The CC45 is a recreation of the first amplifier I ever built. Inspired by the amplifiers of the 1930s, I attempted to make an amplifier worthy of Charlie Christian (hence the CC part of the name). In true Satellite form, I made something much better than I expected.
The CC45 has a different front end from most of our other amplifiers. The preamp is a pair of 6SJ7 tubes. These are pentodes, essentially an octal based version of an EF86. Each is cascaded into the next stage. These run into a 6SN7 octal tube acting as the driver/phase inverter tube. Power tubes are 6L6GCs, in cathode bias, pushing approximately 45 watts. There is a 5AR4 tube rectifier as well.
Preamp tubes are all hand selected vintage tubes.
Transformers are made by Mercury Magnetics. Matched 1x12 comes with Creamback M65.
Current build time is 7-10 days from placement of order.
